COMPUTERS as AIDS TO TEACHING

COMPUTER
·                 A computer is a system
·         Combination of related parts performing job receiving inputs, processing the information and transforming them into a  new kind of result.
HARD WARES
·         is the physical part of the machine
·         part of the computer that sees and touches
·         Peripheral hardware
SOFT WARES
·         Are the programs that make the hardware function
·         These are stored in CD ROMS, video discs, floppy discs, hard drives, audio tapes and video tapes
MULTI – MEDIA
·         Means the use a variety of hard ware and soft wares or a combination of audio – video, graphic designs, animation and computer data.
INTERNET
·         Is a wide network of computers, its scope is through out the world. It is an international electronic network to connect.
·         It is the main connector of all sub networks
ADVANTAGES of the COMPUTERS in TEACHING and LEARNING
·         It allows students to learn at their own pace by having control the rate and sequence of learning.
·         Learning is reinforced by way of high speed personalized response.
·         There is a positive affective climate for learning especially for slow learners.
·      Color, music, and animated graphics add realism and appeal to drill exercises, laboratory activities, simulations and others.
·         Progress in learning is easily monitored with the records keeping ability of computers.
·         Massive information is put at the disposal of the teacher, information which he can control as he keeps contact with the learner.
·         Other benefits to motivated work improves efficiency broader memory capacity, time savings compared with conventional modes of learning.
