Why Technology in Education?

WHY TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION?

Ours is a fast-changing world. Everything happens in a blink of an eye. For us not to be left out we must always keep abreast of what's the latest. We have already proven the worth of teaching the traditional way. Why not couple it with something that will make our educational system better, if not the best? With the latest technology comes the hope of uplifting the learning of every student.

The integration of technology in the educational system aims to enhance the learning process of the young learners. The following are the reasons why we should include technology in education:

1.    INTERACTIVE LEARNING
In a traditional classroom setting, the teacher is the source of information. With the use of technology, the students can now be active participants in the learning process. Learning now becomes a two-way process.

2.    EASY-TO-ACCESS COURSE MATERIALS
Before, we rely much on books when we want to refer to something. But now, with the aid of modern technology, we already have a lot of reference materials that we can use, ranging from database to e-books, even online encyclopedias.

3.    MOTIVATION
The use of modern technology creates a new atmosphere inside the classroom. This creates variation as compared to the routinely manner of teaching the students. Thus, this motivates the students to participate actively and learn more.

4.    IMPROVE LEARNING AMONG THE STUDENTS
The aim of providing technology in education is for the improvement of learning among the students.

5.    AID THE TEACHERS IN TEACHING
With the help of software and other computer programs, teacher’s lesson can be presented in manners that will not anymore consume much of the time as compared with the traditional mode of teaching.

6.    LESSONS ARE PRESENTED IN A MORE SOPHISTICATED WAYS
Say goodbye to chalk and board, and say hello to powerpoint presentations and other modes of presenting the lesson. (Although some classrooms still have chalks and boards, just in case needed)
